I am working on a paper for a media course in which I needed to pick a topic that used transmedia. The simple definition of transmedia is a topic involved in many areas of media.  With Lord of the Rings we have the books, movies, and games.  What are the benefits of having these many types of media for one topic?

Media's main purpose is to make money, secondly it is to entertain. The more films or games you have the more money is generated, the more entertained the audience is.
