Not so long ago I've finished reading The Hobbit (ofcourse it wasn't my first time). Despite the fact, that I'm not a child and I've read this book before, it realy took me in. Tolkien had specific gift, and when you are reading his books (mainly Hobbit and Lord of the Rings) you can feel this. At the beginning you're meeting peacefull place, without problems, but then it starts. History become an adventure, and adventure become even a thrill in some moments. The atmosphere is growing during each page of this epic masterpiece.
Now I'm waiting to forget again the plot and I will start as soon as possible then :]
Maybe it's good, that they quited from including for exmpl Tom Bombadil and other details, 'cos we still have some things only in our minds - without overwriting them by Jackson's vision.
But it's strange to me, that in the animated and film version of LotR there is no Glorfindel rescuing hobbits with Aragorn in 'Flight to Ford' ;/
