i think that the fellowship of the ring needed more battle scenes. either that or they could have mad the last alliance longer.

it was still a lot I think; as far as I remember FotR was mostly about sneaking and stealth, that i thing which I miss- Old Forest, Tom etc.

I think they had just enough combat in FotR - Amon Hen, Moria, Amon Sun. The idea was for stealth, after all (as Fing said). The Old Forest and Tom weren't necessary to the main plot though, so they could be left out.

In fact, some of the fight scenes were a lot longer in the film than in the book - Tolkien wasn't one for describing the in depths of battle - "Gimli hewed two of their necks" being an example.

good point, i guess, its just that i mean that there aren't enough LARGE scale battle scenes like the last alliance.

That's kind of the build up though... it's starts of stealthy and small, but turns into huge and critical battles.

Since, the movies were long already, they could have extended the initial battle scene for another five minutes.

While watching the film I can't remember thinking, ohh I wish that was longer or feeling dissapointment for the lack of battles.
