So...to liven the place up somewhat!

My favourite scene in this film, or even any film I've ever seen, is when the Rohirrim arrive at Pelennor, and begin the cavalry charge. Simply fantastic. Love it.

Ride now! Ride now! Ride to Gondor!
hehe, that was realy fantastic scene indeed

Also charge of Gandalf and Eomer at Helm's Deep was pretty cool :] (but that was ofcourse from TTT, but also rohirrim charge)

But if I have my best scene? It's realy hard to say, especially that I've seen LotR few years ago last time

Interesting tidbit for you: initially in that sequence, Aragorn wasn't fighting a troll. Jackson cast an appearance of Sauron's form when he appeared to the elven smiths, which then changed into his black armoured form. Aragorn then proceeded to fight him.

I'm glad they cut it and made edits. It wouldn't have been right at all :/

I like the battle of Minas Tirith.  Especially when the spirits attack.

They were initially going to do the Army of the Dead similar to how the undead looked in Pirates of the Carrabean (Curse of the Black Pearl)...but then the Pirates film came out, so they changed ideas.

I wasn't aware of that little tidbit.  It wouldn't matter to me one way or the other.  The dead are the dead.  I don't know how many ways you can present their descicated forms.

Yeah, the way they literally swarmed the enemies. Impressive and it looked good, despite being slightly cartoonish, as you say.

And all of those had to be molded...imagine how surreal that would have been.

I have two favorite scenes.  (I'm allowed to do that seeing as how I'm the dark lord and all, bending the rules to suit me).   The other one appeared on the expanded version of ROTK.  It was the final tally of the dead contest by Gimli and Legolas.  The dwarf is sitting on a dead orc that is twitching a bit.  The Prince of Mirkwood knocks an arrow and fires it at the twitching orc, claiming he won by that act.  When the Son of Gloin corrects him, Legolas says, "He was twitching."  "Only because my axe is embedded in his skull," Gloin replies, gripping the axe handle and jerking it up and down.  Even though it was at the expense of my own soldier, it was hillarious.
